Tremendous oversight from you and Busiek in Avengers Forever: the crux of the story is based around Rick Jones and the Destiny Force. Despite spending so long digging into every other piece of continuity, you completely forgot that Rick Jones actually had used the Destiny Force a second time during Atlantis Attacks (when he halted the Atlanteans war on America like he did the Kree/Skrull one) and also a one-time Avengers bad guy who tapped into the Destiny Force. Fail.

The story is ruined! Recall all of the collections!

So, wait. When did it become an “oversight” (of any size) not to mention a piece of continuity that doesn’t affect the story? Seriously, does it make the story better if there’s a panel added where Rick thinks, “…and it came up those other two times, too!”?

I understand that we used a lot of continuity, but that’s not a requirement to mention everything, regardless of whether it adds anything to the proceedings. It is, after all, a story, not a catalogue or an index.

You have failed, Busiek! You too must be recalled! Recalled!

Pros: Best Avengers story ever.

Cons: Not enough callbacks to Atlantis Attacks.

I haven’t seen anything that pedantic from the “old-piece-of-shit” variety of comics fans in what seems like forever,...
